Saunojanrahka
Forus is planning a solar park in Saunojanrahka, Pöytyä
General information
Forus Oy has entered into preliminary agreements with landowners for land acquisition in the Manninaron-Aliniitun-Saunojanrahka area.
The project area covers approximately 120 hectares. The power plant would annually produce approximately 64 gigawatt-hours of electricity, equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of about 24,000 apartment units.
The aim is to develop solar power in the most responsible manner. This involves continuous consideration of biodiversity and advancing carbon neutrality goals. The project's funding, technical planning, and construction are overseen by the Finnish project company of the Danish Better Energy. The company will also remain the owner of the power plant and be responsible for electricity production and sales.
Location
The Manninaron-Aliniitun-Saunojanrahka area is located in the municipality of Pöytyä, approximately one and a half kilometers east of Karinaisten church and about four kilometers southeast of the Kyrö municipal hall. The western parts of the area consist of farmland, the eastern parts are peat production areas, and the northern parts are peat-based bog forests. The park is connected to the transmission grid at the 110 kV voltage level via overhead lines to the Kyrö-Suurila power line.
The corridor for the power line has already been reserved through a preliminary agreement with the landowner.
News
- The public event for Saunojanrahka was held on August 15th at 6:00 PM in the council chamber of the Kyrö office.
