Hanko
Forus is planning a solar park on the old car field area in Hanko
The power plant would generate approximately 30 gigawatt-hours of renewable electricity per year. This would be equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of 15,000 apartment units.
The building permit will be applied for during the year 2023.
General information
Forus Ltd has made preliminary agreements with landowners for leasing land in Hanko's northern industrial area for the construction of a solar power plant.
The project area covers approximately 39 hectares. The power plant's capacity would be around 27 MWp, generating approximately 30 gigawatt-hours of electricity annually. This would be equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of approximately 15,000 apartment units.
The aim is to develop solar power in the most responsible manner. This involves continuous consideration of biodiversity and advancing carbon neutrality goals. The project's funding, technical planning, and construction are overseen by the Finnish project company of the Danish Better Energy. The company will also remain the owner of the power plant and be responsible for electricity production and sales.
Location
The project area is located in the northern industrial area of Hanko, near the Genencor International Ltd. factory.
