General information
Forus is planning a solar park in Makkarahuhdansuo, Loppi. The project area covers approximately 110 hectares, and the estimated capacity of the solar power plant is around 70 MW.
The project developer for the initiative is the Finnish company Forus Ltd, with the aim of developing solar power while considering biodiversity and promoting carbon neutrality goals. The project's funding, technical planning, and construction are managed by the Finnish project company of the Danish Better Energy. The company will also remain the owner of the power plant and be responsible for electricity production and sales.
Location
Makkarahuhdansuo is located in the municipality of Loppi, in the Kanta-Häme region. The solar park will be connected to the national grid at a voltage level of 110 kV. Environmental surveys, as well as soil and ground investigations, will be conducted in 2023. The extent of the solar panels will be determined based on soil investigations. The construction of the power plant is anticipated to commence in the years 2025-2026.
