Säärensuo-Ympyrkämäenrahka-Linturahka
Forus is planning a solar park in the areas of Säärensuo, Linturahka, and Ympyrkämäenrahka in Koski TL
The power plant would annually produce approximately 53 gigawatt-hours of electricity, equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of about 20,000 apartment units.
General information
Forus Oy has entered into preliminary agreements with landowners for land acquisition in the Säärensuo-Linturahka-Ympyrkämäenrahka area for the construction of a solar power plant.
The project area covers approximately 175 hectares, with around 82 hectares designated for the installation of solar panels. The power plant would annually produce approximately 53 gigawatt-hours of electricity, equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of about 20,000 apartment units.
The goal is to develop solar power in the most responsible manner. This means respecting nature the continuous consideration of biodiversity and the advancement of carbon neutrality goals. The financing, technical planning, and construction of the project are handled by the Finnish subsidiary of the Danish company Better Energy. The company will also remain the owner of the power plant and will be responsible for electricity production and sales.
Location
The Säärensuo-Linturahka-Ympyrkämäenrahka area is located approximately 6 kilometers north of the center of Koski TL. The area consists of drained peatland forests and sandy soil forests. The surrounding environment of the project area is sparsely populated.
The solar park will be connected to the national grid at the 110 kV voltage level via overhead lines, connecting to the Lieto-Forssa power line that runs south of the area.
